The focal verse for our September series is found in 2 Corinthians 5:14, "For the love of Christ compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all..."  That is the biblical motivation for why we do church as we do at Carlinville Southern.

 

This month Tim will be challenging us to live life as authentic Christ-followers in light of all Christ has done for us, and in light of all the plastic versions of "Christians" the un-churched see every single day.

7:00 - 7:15 – Pick up children

7:30 – 9:00 – The Element (young adult / college age worship service)

Please do not procrastinate about this highly important responsibility of an authentic Christ-follower.  In the New Testament, the early church was deeply committed to the role and function of the small group in their lives.  All across their communities were house churches that were devoted to teaching & applying Scripture, spending time together, eating together, and communicating with God together (Acts 2:42-47).

 

We want to create the same spiritual culture in Carlinville & Macoupin County.  Connect to a Home Team or other small group beginning Sunday,  September 12th.

….being in the kitchen?  We need volunteers to help with the Wednesday night meal,  funeral dinners, special events, meals for volunteers, etc. etc.  Wednesday night kitchen opportunities also include helping to prepare the meal, after-school meal prep, serving the meal and then cleaning up afterwards.

 

This is also a great fellowship opportunity. Those who provide this ministry have a lot of fun together as they work to serve our church family. There’s a sign-up sheet on the church bulletin board or you may Contact Carrie Daugherty – 217-825-9747 for more information.
